Why most comparisons are invalid

Unless two compounds were compared within a single randomised trial, a comparison between them is indirect. Differences in study population, duration, endpoint definition and analysis method can easily exceed the difference between the compounds. Indirect comparison is a legitimate research technique with formal methods; casually placing two percentages next to each other is not that technique.

What a fair comparison contains

Receptor targets and selectivity. Half-life and administration considerations relevant to study design. The strongest available evidence tier for each. What each was actually measured against. And a clear statement of what remains unknown for both.
